IV amoxicillin + gentamicin
(co-trimoxazole + gent if pen. allergic)
THEN PO Co-trimoxazole

how do you treat an uncomplicated female lower UTI?
Nitrofuratonin 100mg BD/50mg QDS
OR trimethoprim 200mg BD
for 3 days
how do you treat an uncatheterised male UTI?
Nitrofuratonin 100mg BD/50mg QDS
OR trimethoprim 200mg BD
for 7 days
how do you treat UTIs in catheterised patients?
do not do urinalysis
only treat if clinical signs of infection
