if there is positive sputum culture OR if there are signs of consolidation/pneumonia on Xray

A
in the frail or elderly (otherwise no real clinical benefit)

what is the first line antibiotic treatment?
A
PO Amoxicillin 500mg for 5 day

what is the second line antibiotic treatment?
A
Doxycycline 200mg on day 1
THEN 100mg once daily for 5 days
