complications of uti (4)
recurrence, ascending pyelonephritis, sepsis, renal failure (acute to chronic)
catheter UTI risk
5% per day, often mixed and asymptomatic
pyelonephritis treatment
gentamycin, ciprofloxacin, piperacillin, tazobactam
10-14days
complications of pyelonephritis
sepsis, renal failure, papillary necrosis, intrarenal abcess, perinephric abcess
treatment - acute prostatitis
ciprofloxacin
4weeks
treatment - chronic prostatitis

4-6weeks
