Q

Why was Lenin’s testament not released?

A

Even though it was very Trotsky biased, they all agreed not to do it. All did not want Trotsky to win. The testament was very negative towards Stalin, but since they did not see him as a threat, they did not release it.

Q

Why was Trotsky not showing up for Lenin’s funeral a bad idea for Trotsky? And why was Stalin leading it a good idea for him?

A

it damaged Trotsky’s reputation as he was seen as a disloyal follower. On top of this it added on to his reputation of being arrogant.

Stalin leading the funeral made him look like he was a loyal followed of Stalin, hence making him look better.
