و قال البخاري ( رحمه الله تعالى ) “العلم قبل القول
والعمل و” الدليل قوله تعالى “فاعلم انه لا اله الا الله و استغفر لذنبك “
سوره محمد :١٩
Al Bukhari ( May Allah have mercy upon him) said « knowledge precedes speech and action»
and the proof is the saying of Allah The Most High «know that none has the right to be worshiped expect Allah and ask forgiveness of your lord for your sins»
So he began by mentioning knowledge before the speech and action

ان الله خلقنا ، و رزقنا ،ولم يتركنا هملا، بل ارسل الينا رسولا، فمن اطاعه دخل الجنة ، و من عصاه دخل النار
That Allah created us and provided sustenance for us, and He did not leave us without a purpose, rather He sent a Messenger to us. So whoever disobeys him will enter the fire

“انا ارسلنا اليكم رسولا شاهدا عليكم كما ارسلنا الى فرعون رسولا ،فعصى فرعون الرسول فاخذناه اخذا وبيلا”
سوره المزمل (١٦:١٥)
«We sent a messager to you, as a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to the Pharaoh. But the Pharaoh denied and rejected the Messenger, so we seized him with a severe punishment»

لَّا تَجِدُ قَوْمًۭا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ يُوَآدُّونَ مَنْ حَآدَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٍۢ مِّنْهُ ۖ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ رَضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
سوره المجادلة (٢٢)
You will never find a people who ˹truly˺ believe in Allah and the Last Day loyal to those who defy Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their parents, children, siblings, or extended family. For those ˹believers˺, Allah has instilled faith in their hearts and strengthened them with a spirit from Him.1 He will admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. They are the party of Allah. Indeed, Allah’s party is bound to succeed

أَنَّ مَنْ أَطَاعَ الرَّسُولَ وَوَحَّدَ اللهَ لا يَجُوزُ لَهُ مُوَالاةُ مَنْ حَادَّ اللهَ ورسوله ولو كان أقرب قريب
Who obeys the Messenger ﷺ then it is not permissible for him to love those who oppose Allah even if they are the closest of the people to him

Why is this مسأله important?
Loving and hating is based upon the Quran and the Sunnah ( whomsoever Allah ﷻ and his Messenger ﷺ love , we love, whomsoever Allah ﷻ and his Messenger ﷺ dislike and hate, due their misguidance, then we dislike and hate

What is the 4th مسأله?
اعْلَمْ أَرْشَدَكَ اللهُ لِطَاعَتِهِ : أَنَّ الْحَنِيفِيَّةَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ : أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللهَ وَحْدَهُ مُخْلِصًا لَهُ الدين
That Path the leans away from shirk leans toward Tawhid ( as Ibrahim has done), is to worship Allah alone

What is the evidence for this ?
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.

الملة ( creed) that inclines away from shirk , founded upon pure devotion to Allah

Why were we commanded to follow the path of Ibrahim?
1. That Ibrahim عليه السلام came before the Prophet ﷺ ( Ibrahim is know as the father of the prophets- Abu al anbiya)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a descendant of Ismail عليه السلام and he is a descendant of Ibrahim عليه السلام
( it makes sense that the letter follows the former )
2. By commanding the Prophet ﷺ to follow the path of Ibrahim عليه السلام, in it there is a refutation against the Jews and the Christians ( the each claim to follow Ibrahim عليه السلام )

Tawhid is of 3 types, what are they?
1. Tawhid Al Rububiyah-
إفراد الله سبحانه وتعالى بالخلق، والملك
والتدبر
Singling out Allah ﷻ with his lordship
2. Tawhid Al Uluhiyah-
إفراد الله سبحانه وتعالى بالعبادة بأن، لا يتخذ الإنسان مع الله أحداً يعبده ويتقرب إليه كما يعبد الله تعالى ويتقرب إليه
Singling out Allah ﷻ in all forms of worship
3. Tawhid Al Asma wal Sifat-
إفراد الله تعالى بما سمى به نفسه ووصف به نفسه في كتابه، أو على لسان رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم وذلك بإثبات ما أثبته، ونفي ما نفاه من غير تحريف، ولا تعطيل،
ومن غير تكييف، ولا تمثيل
Affirming and believing in the names and attributes of Allah ﷻ. ( affirming what He has affirmed and negating what He has negated Withought distortion, denial and Withought saying ‘how’ nor likening )

According to the Quran and Sunnah, where do people of Ahlul Sunnah mention the 3 Tawhids?
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّۭا
˹He is the˺ Lord of the heavens, and the earth, and everything in between. So worship Him ˹alone˺, and be steadfast in His worship. Do you know of anyone equal to Him ˹in His attributes˺?”
Surah Maryam {19:65}
( shows Tawhid Al Rububiyah and Asma wal Sifat)
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help. Guide us along the Straight Path, the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray
Surah Al Fatiha

The Sufi’s and other innovators claim Tawhid is referring to 3 Gods, and Ibn Taymiyah is the one that invented this,how do we respond to this false claim?
Thé 3 Tawhids where mentioned in books of Ahlul sunnah before Ibn Taymiyah e.g
. Imam Abu Hanifah died 150 AH, 600 years before Ibn Taymiyah,
. Imam Al Tahawi, died 321 years before Ibn Taymiyah,
. Ibn Bata died 387AH
. Ibn Manda died 395 AH

What is the difference between Tawhid Al Uluhiyah and Tawhid Al Rububiyah?
. Tawhid Al Rububiyah necessitates ( brings about) Tawhid Al Uluhiyah
. Tawhid Al Uluhiyah contains Tawhid Al Rububiyah ( if someone worships Allah alone, and does his sadaqa and is a righteous person, he will automatically acknowledge that Allah is is his lord)

وَأَعْظَمُ مَا نَهَى عَنْه الشِّركُ. وَهُوَ: دَعْوَةُ غيره معه
The greatest thing that Allah prohibited us from is shirk

Major shirk: that which takes a person out of the fold of Islam

قال المصنف رحمه الله: (فَإِذَا قِيلَ لَكَ: مَنْ رَبُّكَ؟ فَقُلْ: رَبِّيَ الله الَّذِي رَبَّانِي، وَرَبَّى جَمِيعَ الْعَالَمِينَ بِنِعَمِهِ، وَهُوَ مَعْبُودِي، لَيْسَ لِي مَعْبُودٌ سِوَاهُ
When you are asked, “ who is your Lord?” Your response should be, “ My Lord is Allah, He is the One who has raised me and raised all of those in the worlds with His favours, He is the One whom I worship and there is none for me to worship other than Him

All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds,

بأياته ومخلوقاته ومن اياته الليل والنهار والشمس والقمر ومن مخلوقاته السموات السبع و الاراضون السبع و من فيهن و ما بينهما
Through his signs and his creation, and among His signs are the night and the day, the sun and the moon, and among His creatures are the seven heavens and the seven earths and those in them and what is between them

The Ayat/ signs of Allah ﷻ is of two types, what are they ?
١. ايات كونية- Ayat that are universal
( I.e the night, the day, the moon, the sun, the earth, the heavens)
٢. ايات شرعية- Ayat that are legislative
(I.e signs from the book of Allah ﷻ ( Quran) and the Sunnah )

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِ ٱلَّيْلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ ۚ لَا تَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
Among His signs are the day and the night, the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or the moon, but prostrate to Allah, Who created them ˹all˺, if you ˹truly˺ worship Him ˹alone˺.
Surah fassailat { 41:38}

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًۭا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ ۗ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Indeed your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days,1 then established Himself on the Throne. He makes the day and night overlap in rapid succession. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars—all subjected by His command. The creation and the command belong to Him ˹alone˺. Blessed is Allah—Lord of all worlds!
Surah Al A’raf {7:54}

الإستدلال بالربوبية الله على الوهية
Using as evidence, the Tawhid Al Rububiyah to prove Tawhid Al Uluhiyah
I.e the creation of Allah ﷻ like the sun and the moon ( Tawhid Al Rububiyah), And Allah ﷻ orders us to prostrate to Him ( the one that created the sun and moon) - Tawhid Al Uluhiyah

و الرب هو المعبود
And the Lord is the worshipped one

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ٢١ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فِرَٰشًۭا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءًۭ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًۭا لَّكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًۭا وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ٢٢
O humanity! Worship your Lord, Who created you and those before you, so that you may become mindful ˹of Him˺.
˹He is the One˺ Who has made the earth a place of settlement for you and the sky a canopy; and sends down rain from the sky, causing fruits to grow as a provision for you. So do not knowingly set up equals to Allah ˹in worship˺.
Surah Al Baqarah { 2:21-22}

That Allah ﷻ is the الخالق ,المالك ,المدبر

It is the first command from Allah ﷻ of Tawhid ( this shows the importance of Tawhid and singling out Allah ﷻ for worship

قال ابن كثير رحمه الله تعالى: (الخالق لهذه الأشياء هو المستحق للعبادة) ونواع العبادة التى أمر الله بها مثل الإسلام و الإمان والإحسان
Ibn Kathir May Allah ﷻ have mercy on Him commented: ‘ The Creator of these things, He is the One who deserves to be worshiped’ and there are three categories of worship, which Allah ﷻ commanded such as Islam, Iman and Ihsan

And from it is supplication, fear ,hope,reliance , longing ,fright, humility, awe repentance, seeking aid, seeking refuge, seeking relief, slaughtering, vowing, and other that from the types of worship and of which Allah ﷻ has ordered

وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَداً
The places of worship are ˹only˺ for Allah, so do not invoke anyone besides Him.
Surah Al Jinn {72:18}

فمن صرف منها شيئاً لغير الله فهو مشرك كافر
The who gives anything for these Ibadat to other than Allah ﷻ , he’s a disbeliever
And the evidence is:
وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ
عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
Whoever invokes, besides Allah, another god—for which they can have no proof—they will surely find their penalty with their Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will never succeed.
Surah Al muminun {23:117}

Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you. Surely those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell, fully humbled.”

But those ˹idols˺ you invoke besides Him do not possess even the skin of a date stone
إِن تَدْعُوهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ دُعَآءَكُمْ وَلَوْ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمْ ۖ وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُونَ بِشِرْكِكُمْ ۚ وَلَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيرٍۢ
If you call upon them, they cannot hear your calls. And if they were to hear, they could not respond to you. On the Day of Judgment they will disown your worship ˹of them˺. And no one can inform you ˹O Prophet˺ like the All-Knowledgeable.
Surah Fatir {35:18-19}

After the battle of Uhud, when the Muslims where defeated, and they where on their back to Madinah , the Quraysh ( mushrikun) decided to kill the ones that are remaining after their win. ( so that the religion of Muhammad ﷺ is no longer a problem for them) —- when the prophet ﷺ overheard them, he gathered the companions that where with him and headed back, because Allah ﷻ Said to not fear them and fear Him

الخوف is of 3 types
What are they?
١. خوف العبادة-
Have complete fear of Allah ﷻ knowing that Allah ﷻ is the one that harms and brings benefit- only done for Allah ﷻ ( a form of Ibadah)
٢. خوف طبيعي-
Natural fear- it is not a form of Ibadah so there is no harm in this
I.e فَأَصْبَحَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفًۭا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥ ۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِىٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
And so Moses became fearful, watching out in the city, when suddenly the one who sought his help the day before cried out to him again for help. Moses rebuked him, “Indeed, you are clearly a trouble-maker.”
Surah Al Qasas { 28:18 }
If that fear leads you to leave what is compulsory or doing something not permissible, then it is haram
٣.خوف السر-
It happens in the hearts of the mushrikun, they fear people in the grave or another location more than Allah ﷻ — this is shirk

The fear that is praiseworthy causes someone to leave the محرمات, and encourages you to do ibadat

So whoever hopes for the meeting with their Lord, let them do good deeds and associate none in the worship of their Lord.”

Put your trust in Allah if you are ˹truly˺ believers.
Surah Al Ma’ida { 5:23 }
وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓ ۚ
And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them
Surah Al Talaq { 65:3 }

١. التوكل على الله - ﷻ reliance upon Allah
٢. التوكل السر- reliance upon the hidden
I.e When a person depends on the dead to bring benefit to him ( this is Major shirk)
٣. التوكل على الغير - reliance upon another person regarding what he has the ability to do , while considering him to be high in status ( minor shirk )
٤. التوكل على الغير - reliance upon another person like a reliance of someone as a deputy who substitutes for him ( this is permissible)

The fifth, sixth and seventh types of عبادة that is given evidence for is الرغبه والرهبة والخشوع, what are the verses that relates to this?
( As well as the Eighth )
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًۭا وَرَهَبًۭا ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِينَ
Indeed, they used to race in doing good, and call upon Us with hope and fear, totally humbling themselves before Us.
Surah Al Anbya { 21:90 }
و دليل الخشية :
فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى
Do not fear them; fear Me
Surah Al Baqarah { 2:150 }

The norms of ahul ilm are acts of worship

Allah ˹Himself˺ is a Witness that there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him—and so are the angels and people of knowledge. He is the Maintainer of justice. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him—the Almighty, All-Wise.
Surah Al Imran { 3:18 }

The ˹true˺ believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger—never doubting—and strive with their wealth and their lives in the cause of Allah. They are the ones true in faith.
Surah Al Hujurat { 49:15 }

What is the evidence of إخلاص in لا إله إلا الله ?
فَٱعْبُدِ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصًۭا لَّهُ ٱلدِّينَ ٢ أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْخَالِصُ ۚ
so worship Allah ˹alone˺, being sincerely devoted to Him. Indeed, sincere devotion is due ˹only˺ to Allah
Surah Al Zumar { 39:2-3 }

What is the evidence of صدقك in لا إله إلا الله ?
الٓمٓ ١ أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ ٢ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ٣
Alif-Lãm-Mĩm. Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test? We certainly tested those before them. And ˹in this way˺ Allah will clearly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are liars.
Surah Al Ankabut { 29:1-3 }

That Allah ﷻ will differentiate between the the truthful and the liars

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادًۭا يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَشَدُّ حُبًّۭا لِّلَّهِ ۗ ۖ
Still there are some who take others as Allah’s equal—they love them as they should love Allah but the ˹true˺ believers love Allah even more
Surah Al Baqarah { 2:165 }

1. They love Allah ﷻ and they love the idols ( they made equals with Allah ﷻ )
2. The love that the Muslims have for Allah ﷻ is more than the love the mushriks have for the Allah ﷻ and the idols

۞ وَمَن يُسْلِمْ وَجْهَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌۭ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ ۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْأُمُورِ
Whoever fully submits themselves to Allah and is a good-doer, they have certainly grasped the firmest hand-hold. And with Allah rests the outcome of ˹all˺ affairs
Surah Al Luqman { 31:22 }

What is the evidence of القبول لها in لا إله إلا الله ?
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٣٥ وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍۢ مَّجْنُونٍۭ ٣٦
For whenever it was said to them ˹in the world˺, “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Allah,” they acted arrogantly and argued, “Should we really abandon our gods for a mad poet?”
Surah Al Saffat { 37:35-36 }

What is the first evidence which makes لا إله إلا الله clear?
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ ٢٦ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ سَيَهْدِينِ ٢٧ وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةًۢ بَاقِيَةًۭ فِى عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ٢٨
Remember, O Prophet˺ when Abraham declared to his father and his people, “I am totally free of whatever ˹gods˺ you worship except the One Who originated me, and He will surely guide me. And he left this enduring declaration among his descendants, so they may ˹always˺ turn back ˹to Allah˺.1
Surah Al Zukhruf { 43:26-28 }

We see النفى and الإثبات ( negation and affirmation) which clarifies the meaning of لا إله إلا الله
e.g إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ= negation

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍۢ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًۭا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُولُوا۟ ٱشْهَدُوا۟ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ ٦٤
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! Let us come to common terms: that we will worship none but Allah, associate none with Him, nor take one another as lords instead of Allah.” But if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we have submitted ˹to Allah alone˺.”
Surah Al Imran { 3:64 }

لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
There certainly has come to you a messenger from among yourselves. He is concerned by your suffering, anxious for your well-being, and gracious and merciful to the believers.
Surah Al Tawba { 9:128 }

even though they were only commanded to worship Allah ˹alone˺ with sincere devotion to Him in all uprightness, establish prayer, and pay alms-tax. That is the upright Way.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you1—so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺.

What is the evidence for الحج?
وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًۭا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Allah upon whoever is able among the people.1 And whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is not in need of ˹any of His˺ creation.

What is the difference between الإسلام و الإمان?
The scholars have a قاعدة ( ruling ) to differentiate:
اذا إجتمع ، افترق و إذا افترق إجتمع
If they are both mentioned in one text ( verse or hadith ) then each one takes a different meaning ( Islam takes the meaning of the 5 pillars of Islam and iman takes the meaning of the 6 pillars of iman )
However if only one of them is mentioned ( I.e Islam is built upon 5 ) in this case they take the same meaning

What is the meaning of الإمان ?
قول باللسان والإيمان بالجنان وعمل بالاركان يزيد بطاعة الرحمن وينقص بطاعة الشيطان
Statement of the tongue and belief in the heart and acting with your body, increases with the obedience of Allah ﷻ and decreases with the obedience of shaytan

The second level is Al Imam ( الأمان ), what is it?
الإيمان وهو بضع وسبعون شعبة فأعلاها قول: لا إله إلا الله، وأدناها إماطة الأذى عن الطريق، والحياء شعبة من الإيمان
It has 70 and some odd branches. It’s highest saying is لا إله إلا الله and its lowest is removing something harmful from the way
Al Haya ( shyness ) is a branch of Iman

Al Haya is of two types, what are they?
١. Haya that is praiseworthy
The prophet ﷺ said:
الحياء لا يأتي إلا بالخير
( shyness that prevents a person from sinning, disrespectful, and helps a women to wear the hijab )
٢. Haya that is blameworthy
ما يؤدي إلى ترك واجب أو فعل محرم
That which leads to leaving something that is wajib or mustahab or doing something which is haram
( I.e a person is seeking knowledge and he is too shy to ask a question, that’s not praiseworthy)

What are they ?
أن تؤمن بالله وملائكته وكتبه ورسله واليوم الآخر وتؤمن بالقدر خيره وشره’
To believe in Allah ﷻ and, His Angels, His Revealed Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in destiny (qadar)–both good and evil

What is the difference between pillars and branches?
Pillars are the most important of the structure therefore if one of these pillars of iman is missing then all of the iman is missing
The branches of iman such as لا إله إلا الله and salah is important and if it is left off then you can not be a Muslim however if someone leaves other branches of iman then his iman decreases

Believing in Allah ﷻ consists of 4 things , what are they ?
1. To believe in the existence of Allah ﷻ
2. To believe in the lordship ( Rububiyah) of Allah ﷻ
3. To believe in the Uluhiyah of Allah

What is the difference between الرسول ( A messenger ) و النبي ( A prophet )?
A messenger:
من اوحي اليه بشرع جديد
A person that has been given revelation of a new sharia ( a messenger is someone who was sent to a people who opposed him )
A prophet:
من اوحي اليه بشرع من قبل
A person that has been given the sharia of the messenger before him
( a prophet is someone who was sent to a people who agreed with him, and his role is to renew the sharia )

What is Qadr of Allah ﷻ ( decree )?
Everything that happens, happens by the will of Allah ﷻ ( bad or good )

Believing in the Qadr of Allah ﷻ consists of four things, what are they?
١. الإيمان بأن الله علم بكل شيء

٢. Believing everything that happens has been written in the لوح المحفوظ ( lawh Al Mahfuz )- Allah ﷻ wrote the decree of everything that happens 50,000 years, before creating the heavens and the earth
٣. Believing that everything happens by the will of Allah ﷻ
٤. Believing that everything has been created by Allah ﷻ

Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets

It has 1 pillar: That you worship Allah ﷻ as though you see Him, for even if you cannot see Him, He still sees you

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ
Surely Allah is with those who shun evil and who do good ˹deeds˺.

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٢١٧ ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ٢١٨ وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ٢١٩ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٢٢٠
Put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful, Who sees you when you rise ˹for prayer at night˺, as well as your movements ˹in prayer˺ along with ˹fellow˺ worshippers. He ˹alone˺ is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

What is the Third evidence of الإحسان?
وَمَا تَكُونُ فِى شَأْنٍۢ وَمَا تَتْلُوا۟ مِنْهُ مِن قُرْءَانٍۢ وَلَا تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ شُهُودًا إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۚ
There is no activity you may be engaged in ˹O Prophet˺ or portion of the Quran you may be reciting, nor any deed you ˹all˺ may be doing except that We are a Witness over you while doing it

What is the Hadith that is related to الإسلام، الإمان و الإحسان
( Islam, Iman and Ihsan )
The famous Hadith of Jibril on the authority of Umar who said: “ while we were sitting with the messenger ﷺ one day, a man appeared before us with very white clothing and very black hair. No trace of travel was visible upon him and none of us recognised him. He sat by the prophet ﷺ so that his knees and he placed the palms o his hands on his thighs. He said, ‘O Muhammad inform me about Islam’ Allah’s messager ﷺ replied:
الإِسْلاَمُ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاً
Al-Islam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakat, observe the fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the (House) if you are solvent enough (to bear the expense of) the journey)
He said ‘ you have spoken the truth’. He then said, “Then inform me about Iman” He replied:
أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلاَئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ
That you affirm your faith in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Apostles, in the Day of Judgment, and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil
He said, ‘ you have spoken the truth’ then he said, ‘Then inform me about Ihsan’. He replied:
أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ
That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, for though you don't see Him, He, verily, sees you

Third fundamental principle: knowing the prophet ﷺ
معرفة نبيك محمد ﷺ وهو محمد بن عبدالله بن عبدالمطلب بن هاشم ، وهاشم من قريش ، وقريش من العرب ، والعرب من ذرية إسماعيل بن إبراهيم الخليل ، عليه وعلى نبينا أفضل الصلاة والسلام . وله من العمر ثلاث وستون سنة، منها أربعون قبل النبوة، وثلاث وعشرون نبيًّا رسولاً، نبئ بـ(اقرأ)، وأرسل بـ(المدثر)، وبلده مكة، وهاجر إلى المدينة
And He is Muhammad, son of Abdullah son of Abdul Muttalib, son of Hashim is from Quraysh and Quraysh is from the Arabs and the Arabs, and the Arabs are from the lineage of Isma’il, son of Ibrahim Al- Khalil May the best salah and Salam be upon him and upon our prophet: he lived 63 years: 40 before prophethood and 23 as a prophet and a messenger

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ فِيمَ كُنتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةًۭ فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِيهَا ۚ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا ٩٧ إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةًۭ وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًۭا ٩٨ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَعْفُوَ عَنْهُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًۭا ٩٩
When the angels seize the souls of those who have wronged themselves1—scolding them, “What was wrong with you?” they will reply, “We were oppressed in the land.” The angels will respond, “Was Allah’s earth not spacious enough for you to emigrate?” It is they who will have Hell as their home—what an evil destination! Except helpless men, women, and children who cannot afford a way out—it is right to hope that Allah will pardon them. For Allah is Ever-Pardoning, All-Forgiving.
Surah Al Nisa { 4:97-99 }

What is the ruling of making Hijrah?
١. من لا يستطيع ان يظهر دينه يقدر على الهجره-
A person who unable to practice their religion ( e.g pray, fast, enjoin the good and forbid the evil ) and that person has the ability to make Hijrah ( it is wajib upon this individual)
٢. من لا يستطيع الهجرة-
A person who is unable to make Hijrah ( e.g due to illness, not allowed to leave the country, not having correct paperwork, not being able to go and find a place to migrate to)— these people are excused
٣. من يستطيع اظهار دينه و يستطيع الهجرة-
A person who is able to practice their religion and is able to migrate ( for that person it’s mustahab )
٤. من يستطيع إظهار دينه ويستطيع الهجرة لكن في بقائه خير للمسلمين-
A person who is able to practice their religion and is able to migrate, but there is a goodness and need for him to stay ( e.g A 3alim ( scholar ) )— for that person it could be that it is mustuhab or wajib for him to stay

What is another evidence/ verse for Hijrah?
يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ أَرْضِى وَٰسِعَةٌۭ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱعْبُدُونِ ٥٦
O My believing servants! My earth is truly spacious, so worship Me ˹alone˺.

Surah Al A’raf { 7:158 }

ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمَ دِينًۭا ۚ
Today the disbelievers have given up all hope of ˹undermining˺ your faith

إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌۭ وَإِنَّهُم مَّيِّتُونَ ٣٠ ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ ٣١
You ˹O Prophet˺ will certainly die, and they will die too. Then on the Day of Judgment you will ˹all settle your˺ dispute before your Lord.
Surah Al Zumar { 39-30-31 }

From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will bring you back again.

وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًۭا ١٧ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًۭا ١٨
Allah ˹alone˺ caused you to grow from the earth like a plant. Then He will return you to it, and then simply bring you forth ˹again˺.

لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى
that He may reward the evildoers according to what they did, and reward the good-doers with the finest reward
Surah Al Najm { 53:31 }

When is it considered the day of judgment for the person?
Everything that happens after the death of the person is considered the day of Judgment— when a person passes away and they put into the grave ( hayatul Barzakh ), this is considered the day of judgment as well as when they are raised

And whoever denies the resurrection, he has disbelieved, what is the evidence for this?
زَعَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَن لَّن يُبْعَثُوا۟ ۚ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّى لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ
The disbelievers claim they will not be resurrected. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected, then you will certainly be informed of what you have done. And that is easy for Allah.”
Surah At Taghabun { 64:7 }

And Allah ﷻ sent all of the Messengers as bearers of good news, and as warners, what is the evidence for this?
رُّسُلًۭا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةٌۢ بَعْدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًۭا
All were˺ messengers delivering good news and warnings so humanity should have no excuse before Allah after ˹the coming of˺ the messengers. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.
Surah Al Nisa { 4:165 }

The first of them was Nuh and the last of them was Muhammad ﷺ, what is the evidence that Nuh was the first Messenger?
۞ إِنَّآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ كَمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍۢ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۚ
Indeed, We have sent revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ as We sent revelation to Noah and the prophets after him

إن الناس يأتون إلى نوح فيقولون له: أنت أول رسول أرسل الله إلى أهل الأرض
The people shall come to Nuh and say to him: ‘ You are the first Messenger sent by Allah ﷻ to the people of the earth’

What did Allah ﷻ command the prophets to do?
They command the people to worship Allah ﷻ alone and to warning them against worshiping to other than Allah ﷻ

And to every nation, Allah has sent a Messanger from to Nuh to Muhammad, commanding them to worship Allah ﷻ alone and forbidding them from worshiping Al Taghut { false deities }, what is the evidence of this?
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖ
We surely sent a messenger to every community, saying, “Worship Allah and shun false gods.”
Surah Al Nahl { 16:36 }

Allah has obligated upon all of the servants to disbelieve in the taghut and having faith in Allah ﷻ, what did ibn Al Qayyim say about the meaning of At Taghut?
قال إبن القيم رحمه الله تعالى- الطاغوت:
ما تجاوز به العبد حده من معبود أو متبوع أو مطاع
Al Qayyim may Allah have mercy upon him said:
‘The Taghut is anything in which the servant transgresses the set limits in worship, following it obedience’

What are the are some examples of a Taghut ?
1. Those scholars who make what is halal , haram and vice versa
2. A person who calls to kufr

The tawagit are numerous and their heads are 5, what are they?
١. إبليس- iblis
٢. من عبد وهو راض-
Whoever is worshipped and is pleased with it
٣. و من دعا الناس إلى عبادة نفسه-
Whoever calls the people to the worship of himself
٤. من ادعى شيئا من علم الغيب
Whoever claims knowledge of Al Ghaib ( claims to see the unseen )
٥. من حكم بغير ما أنزل الله
Whoever judges by other than what Allah ﷻ has revealed

Al Ghaib is of two types, what are they?
١. الغيب المتلق-
Thé Ghaib that is unseen and no one knows of it ( I.e when the day of judgement will be, or if a person is going to jannah or jahanam)
٢. الغيب النسبي-
The Ghaib that is relative/ partial— is possible that a person can have sort of knowledge regarding it by the will of Allah ﷻ (ie. When a women is excepting a baby and she is in the 5th month, you are able to tell the gender of the baby— Allah ﷻ has given them the ability to see)

What is meant by من حكم بغير ما أنزل الله ?
Allah ﷻ revealed the Quran and revealed to us sunnah of the prophet ﷺ and we take the ruling of it.
So those who do not rule by the sharia of Allah ﷻ, Allah ﷻ calls them disbelievers
وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the disbelievers.
( this has different conditions which is mentioned in Nawaqid Al Islam )

What is the evidence about the Taghut in the Quran?
لَآ إِكْرَاهَ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۖ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشْدُ مِنَ ٱلْغَىِّ ۚ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ
Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest
Surah Al Baqarah { 2:256 }

رأس الأمر الإسلام و عموده الصلاة وذروة سنامه الجهاد في سبيل الله
The head of the affair is Islam, it’s central support is the salah and it’s peak is jihad in the cause of Allah ﷻ
