What is an aquifer?
A natural underground rock structure that holds water.
What is groundwater?
Water that collects below that soil, when rain reaches below the ground.
What is a reservoir?
Artificial or natural lakes fed by rivers and streams.
What do we use freshwater for?
Majority - Agriculture
2nd Highest - Industry
Lowest - Domestic Use
What is water stress?
Water stress is when a country can’t meet its demand for fresh water.
What is fossil water?
Groundwater that has been sealed into aquifers for thousand or millions of years due to changes in the surrounding rock.
What is the great man made river?
It is a series of pipelines that deliver water all across Libya from the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer.
How to stop this issue?
- Save rainwater
- Stop wasting water
- Recycle it
- Move it
- Desalinate it
What is food security?
Having access to safe and nutritious food at all times for a healthy and safe life.
What is food insecurity?
Not having access to safe food at all times.
Why is our food security at risk?
- Increase in population
- Politics

Why is there so much food insecurity?
- Poverty in the household/farm/country
- Pests and diseases

What is being carbon neutral?
Adding no carbon dioxide to the atmosphere and always balancing it out.
