Communications Subsystem Backup and Failure Modes

  1. Single Mission Computer Failure (AMC operational and AC Power) - No impact on ICS or radios
  2. 1553 Data Bus Fail (AMC Operational; AC Power) - Both MC fail or 1553 data bus fail; no impact on ICS; control through RCU and OCP (C/S with RCU; No DF or RELAY)
  3. AMC or OCP Fail (MSN COMP operational) - RAD 1 to pilot; RAD 2 to copilot; control by RCU; ICS call to all
  4. Battery Mode (AC Power fail) - RAD 1 to pilot; ICS PTT (fixed) to pilots
