What are the pros of modelling foam?

A

Cheep (£10 per kg)
Quick to use
Can be used for a variety of products
Shows scale and ergonomic issues that cant be detected in CAD- tangible.
Durable- both lightweight and strong.

How is modelling foam shaped?

A

Cut- a knife, blade, jigsaw or hot wire cutter.
Sanded- to remove tool marks, starting with a low grit and working up.
Held- shaped around parts of the body.
