Authorization of physical force or mechanical force
To overcome resistance directed at the officers or others; to protect the officers, or a third party from unlawful force to protect property to effect lawful objectives, such as to make arrest.
Authorization of deadly force
To protect the officer or another from imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury or to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect when… probable cause has committed death or serious bodily injury or threat to innocent persons. “Never to protect property”
