What date was the 13th Amendment and what did it do?
31st January 1865 and it abolished slavery in the USA.
Who was Booker T. Washington?
A famous Black American among whites and blacks, supported segregation.
What were the Jim Crow Laws?
The Jim Crow laws were a set of laws segregating trams, housing, schools and public facilities.
What is Lynching?
A mob taking the law into its own hands. Usually in the South it was white men hanging black men, some were burned.
What was Plessy vs Ferguson?
In 1896 the Supreme court ruled that despite the 14th Amendment segregation was possible if provision was ‘separate but equal’.
Between 1917 and 1932 what was the movement of Black people to the North called?
The Great Migration.
What was the NAACP and when was it formed?
National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peoples and 1910
What was Roosevelt’s Executive Order 8802?
Executive Order 8802 was Roosevelt’s banning of all discrimination in defense.

What and when was Brown vs Board of Education?
1951 - NAACP lawyers took several cases to court to desegregate schools. They were overruled by the Plessy Vs Ferguson case of 1896. The NAACP bundled the cases together and took them to the Supreme Court who ruled schools as not equal and ordered for schools to be Desegregated immediately.
What was Core and when was it setup?
Congress of Racial Equality was setup in 1942. ( Non-Violent).
What date was the Montgomery Bus Boycott and who started it?
Rosa Parks and in 1955
