Blacks moving north black people with political ambition moved north so the civil rights movement in the south lost potential leaders and political drive for change. Also the poor conditions cause by poor housing and bad pay towards black people caused many to strive for their basic needs instead of political change which created an obstacle for change.

No unity amongst the leaders with different ideologies and ways to combat discrimination resulted in a weaker civil rights movement
