What is a constitution
A constitution is a set of rules which explains how the government should work
What is the bill of rights
The bill of rights explains the rights that Americans have
What are the 3 branches of Government and what do they do
Legislative -Their main role is to write federal laws and another role is to set how much is
to be paid in tax to the government.
Executive -They represent the Us abroad and internationally and another role is to decide which judges should sit on the supreme court
Judicial-To make sure everyone follows the laws set out in the constitution and settle disputes.
What does the federal government do and how often is a president elected?
The federal government deals with state issues and foreign affairs-It is based in Washington DC and the president leads it.A president is elected every 4 years
What are the powers of the state government
Local Laws, Punishments and Provision of Roads
What do the republicans and democrats believe
Democrats-they believe it is the job of the government to look after people and help overcome some of life’s inequalities.
Republicans-they believe it is upto individuals to look after themselves and that the government shouldn’t interfere in people’s personal lives
What is the difference between participation and representation
Participation is when people take part in political activity and Representation is when they have their fair share in a position of power
What 5 things do u need to think about when taking part in political activity
Age,Race,Sex,Sexuality, Religion
Congress is split into two things-what are they and how many members in each?
