They must be at least 35, a natural born us citizen, and have lived in the US for at leaast 14 years

What is the general process of electing a us president?

A
  1. Invisible primary - individuals announce their intentionto run for president, this is a time where they try to increase their name recognition, fund raise and have intra party debates
  2. Primaries and caucuses - each state undergoes either a primary or a caucus to determine who gets the parties delegates for that state
  3. National convention - delegates officially cast their vote for the chosen candidate and the winner is formally announced. This is a time to rally the party as their has been intra party fighting up until now
  4. The candidates campaign nationwide
  5. People cast their vote on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November
  6. The winner is announced according to the electoral college, who vote at a later date.
