Q
REGULATION OF URINE CONCENTRATION AND VOLUME
What is aldosterone and its mechanisms?
A
Aldosterone produced in the adrenal cortex that affects Na+ and CI transport in the distal convuluted tubule and collecting ducts.
() A decrease in aldosterone results in less Na+ reabsorption and an increase in urine concentration volume.
() Aldosterone production is stimulated by angiotensin Ii, increased blood K+ concentration, and decreased blood Na+ concentration.
