Why did people move to urban areas after the Industrial Revolution?
With new farming practices, farms could produce more food with fewer workers, so people from rural areas poured into the cities to find work in the factories.
How did manchester begin?
The Romans built a fort near the River Medlock. They called it Mamucium, and a settlement grew around it - After the Romans left, It had become a market town.
How did Manchester start producing wool and linen cloth?
Some Flemish weavers settled in Manchester, and started the tradition of making wool and cloth.

Other countries started to sell what Manchester sold for cheaper, and factories could not compete, and people had to move to other towns and cities to find work.
