The Ancient Greeks Didn’t know much about the world to the east of Greece, So they called the general area “Asia”, which means east in Greece.

A network of trade routes between Asia and Europe.

Silk, porcelain, spices, dates, jewels, and perfumes.
Why did the silk road end?
Rulers in turkey banned the silk road banned trade from the west because they were angry about crusades.
What did Europe do after the Silk Road ended?
Europe looked for sea routes to Asia so they could trade buy resources. There were many battles over trade in Europe.
What did Europe and other countries that traded with Asia do to the countries they traded with?
They took control of many countries and turned them into colonies. China was not colonised, but two of its trading posts were. Later, they were given independence.
