Organisation is an increasing percentage of a countries population moving from the countryside to towns and cities
What is an urban area?
A built-up area
What is a rural area?
A sparsely populated area

The things that make people want to leave an area
What is a pull factor?
The things that attract people to a new place
what is a CBD?
Standing for central business district/the commercial centre of an urban area
What is urban sprawl?
The growth of towns and cities
What is a brownfield site?
An area of previously built on land, that has since become unused and derelict usually previously industrial
What is a greenfield site?
An area of undeveloped land often found outside of cities
What is a green belt?
A ring of protected land to shield rural areas from urban sprawl
What is gentrification?
The process where the character of a poor urban area is changed by wealthy people moving in improving housing and attracting a new business businesses often displacing current inhabitants in the process
What are the causes and of urbanisation?
Urbanisation can grow from an increases in human population or from migration into urban areas
What are the impacts of urbanisation?
Urbanisation can result in deforestation, habitat loss, and the extraction of freshwater from the environment
