These are places with lots of people and buildings e.g towns and cities

These are places with few people and limited buildings. E,g villages.
Rural-Urban migration is one of the causes of urbanisation
This is when people migrate from the countryside to the city.
What are some push factors? - Natural Disasters
Natural disasters- damages farmland and property=costly. Rural areas find it harder to recover since they have fewer resources.

Mechanised agriculture= fewer workers=fewer jobs.

Desertification= makes land unproductive people can’t support themselves. Farmer income=unstable.
What are some pull factors? - Jobs
More jobs=Better paid

Family members have already moved to urban area.

Better quality of life.

Natural increase= birth rate-death rate
What are the benefits of br?
Br are high in urban areas because they are more young adults therefore more likely to start a family.
Why are death rates in urban areas?
Death rates tend to be more low because they are more healthier+more improved healthcare.
