10X12 CW bucky
IR size for superoinferior axial shoulder view and what is the special pre exposure pt instruction?
8x10 CW no bucky
suspended respiration
IR size for PA scapular Y shoulder?
10X12 LW bucky
IR size for clavicle views
10X12 CW bucky
IR size for scapula views
10x12 lw b
For clavicle views, where should CR be at?
midclavicle, between jugular notch and AC joint.
where should CR be for superoinferior axial shoulder?
5-15 degree toward elbow, pointed at the shoulder joint
When shooting AP shoulder, where should CR be directed?
1” inferior to coracoid process
In humerus views, where is the CR directed at?
at midpoint of the humerus
where should the CR be for the AP scapula view? what is the pre exposure instruction?
2” inferior to the Coracoid process, slow breathing
why is the opposite hand necessary to grasp the opposite shoulder in the lateral scapula view?
you need to isolate the humerus from scapula
how do you avoid getting Zero?
Perform the correct views, make sure the CR is in-line with the IR, and make sure the CR is at the correct angle, unless specified
angle on the PA ulna deviation?
10-15 toward elbow
angle on the Axial Clavicle?
15-30
angle on the SI axial shoulder?
5-15 toward elbow
AP forearm:
PT position, Part Position
PT position = seated, entire arm on one horizontal plane
Part Position= arm is supinated, true AP is epicondyles and styloid process being parallel to the IR
AP shoulder (internal Rotation): PT position, Part position, Pre exposure instruction, center of IR?
PT position = erect, position the shoulder to be x ray against the bucky.
Part position = arm is a little bit abducted and then internally rotated (back of hand touching thigh), epicondyles are perpendicular to IR
CR = pointed towards scap-humerus joint, 1” below coracoid process
How would you position PT in superoinferior axial shoulder?
PT is seated, using the 8x10 CW no bucky IR, have PT place the elbow on the table passed the IR bent at 90 degree. Set the tube angle at 5-15 degree toward the ELBOW, aiming at the shoulder joint. Check to make sure the PT shoulder is in one plane with the body part (no slouching)
How do you set up for a PA scap Y view?
PT is erected, with the affected side against the bucky. once there, adjust IR. with 10x12 LW, measure the 2” from the pt’s acro-clav joint and adjust the IR to match the height as necessary. Then lower the laser to the center of IR then begin moving pt as necessary. CR should be at the center of scap, with the acro-clav and superior portion of scap perpendicular to the bucky.
of all erected routines, which ones require pt to suspend INSPIRATION? and which one is slow breathing?
AP clavicle, AP Axial clavicle
AP Scapula
Overall, when performing x ray, what should be done to minimize magnification/decrease OID?
make sure the part is touching the IR or bucky if possible.
