Bacteria:
- H influenza
- M catarrahlis
- streptococci
- S. aureus
- S pyogens
- S. pneumonia

Rhinitis
A
-Common cold
-Can be a prodrome to :
pneumonia
meningitis
septicemia
-winter months

Otitis media
A
- Very tender eardrum- ruptured-very red
- Erythema-redness of the skin due to increased blood flow in the capillaries near the skin
- Primary viral infection or secondary to pneumococcus

Tonsilittis/ pharyngitis
A
- Throat swab to determine whether virus or bacteria
- results can take up to 10 days to receive-in this time can either not treat or treat with antibiotics

- Human parainfluenza
- very common
- well
- stridor,barking cough
- treat with steroids

- influenza B
- rare
- toxic
- stridor-drooling
- intubation+antibiotics
