AU 4 + 5 Appearance Changes
A
- Lowers inner and central port of eyebrows
- Pulls the eyebrows closer together
- Produces wrinkles between eyebrows and root of nose
- Lowering of eye cover fold from AU 4 and lifting of eyelid in AU 5. Result is a compromise in eye aperture.
- Oblique wrinkle or bulge above eyebrows
- Raises upper eyelid so some or all has disapeared from view
- Sclera may become more present because of AU 5, or less because of AU 4
- May change shape of upper eye rim
- May give appearance of harsh stare

AU 5 + 7 Appearance Changes
A
- Raises the upper, some may disappear from view
- Sclera may become more present because of AU 5
- Shape of upper rim of eye changes
- May appearing staring, as is eyes are protruding
- Tightens lower eye lid, making it raise or less curved downward
- Can bulge skin below eye
- Pulls skin below eye up and toward inner corner of eye
- Lower lid furrow more evident
- AU 5 widens eye aperture, AU 7 narrows it, resulting in a compromise

AU 1 + 4 Appearance Changes
A
- Pulls medial portion of eyebrows up and together
- Makes oblique eyebrows, maybe dip in center
- Pulls up on mid to inner portion of the eyebrows
- Pulls lateral eyebrow down
- Causes wrinkles in center of forehead
- May cause vertical wrinkles between eyebrows
- May causes wrinkle or bulge from mid forehead to inner brow area

- Pulls entire eyebrow upwards
- Produces an arched appearance to eyebrows
- Horizontal wrinkles across forehead
- Stretches eye cover fold so it is more apparent
- May reveal upper eyelid

- Pulls eyebrows together, but not as close as AU 4 alone
- Flattens inner eyebrow
- Wrinkles across forehead

- Eyes are closed
- More skin around pulled in than 7 + 43E
- Infraorbital triangle raised, crows feet wrinkles, infraoribtal furrows might deepen
- Eyebrows might lower to an extent

- Eyes are closed
- Skin below lower eyelid is pulled towards root of nose.
- Lower eyelid furrow may become evident
