Grade 0-2

  • What is the process of the test?
  • Patient instruction?
A

-The patient is positioned in short sitting. The PT is standing at the side giving resistance proximal to the elbow while the other hand is using the web space of the thumb and index finger to palpate the edges of the scapula at the inferior angle. The patient will raise their arm to approximately 130° of flexion with the elbow extended. The scapula should rotate and abduct without winging.
-“Raise your arm up, keep your arm straight. Don’t let me push it down.”
