Asset management

A

Other than revenue or expenses, the last area of struggle is often around dealing with a diverse mix of compressor and driver manufacturers assembled over years of acquisitions as well as changing emissions regulations.
• These clients lean heavily on our built-in emissions and maintenance tracking modules as well as the guidance of their dedicated engineering account manager.

A
  • Thank you for spending your time with us this afternoon. I know we had emailed about meeting for #2 hours#. Have there been any changes to that? …
  • Very good. The purpose of this visit is to introduce our Enalysis software service and our methodology to assess the business value of deployment specifically the way that #Pioneer# is run.
  • Question for you… if during our visit Mike or I uncover that we’re just not a good fit for #Pioneer#, is it okay if we say that? … Would you do the same for us? …
  • On the other, if it looks like this could end up being a big deal, we will get out our calendars and pick a day and a time for the value assessment kick off. Is that fair? ….
  • During the meeting, Mike and I will have a number of questions to better understand any areas of struggle in fleet optimization. Are you okay with that? …
- Besides the introduction and value assessment process, is there anything else you would like us to make time to cover?

Q

Company History - 1970’s

A

Detechtion was started by Alan Taylor.

Starting back in his days at CNRL in the 70’s he had hundreds of compressors to deal with

and no systematic way to identify which units were wasting fuel gas

or exhibiting subtle early warnings of potential catastrophic failures.

As a result labor costs were high scheduling frequent preemptive visits by the operators and mechanics to all the stations trying to stay ahead of the problems.

Q

Company History - Founding Detechtion

A

To deal with this, he created spreadsheets as a non-invasive diagnostic tool. In 1998, after using his spreadsheets for 20 years as a consultant to major oil and gas companies around the world, he joined forces with his son Brian Taylor and founded Detechtion to market the tool as a service where clients would fax in their compressor temperatures, pressures and fuel analyses to then receive back an analysis report with recommendations manually added in. Recommendations often included things like pocket adjustments, consolidation opportunities and prioritized maintenance lists for the operators and mechanics. ** Fast forward to 2013 and a private equity firm bought Detechtion, by that time a software as a service company, a SaaS company.

Company History - SaaS and Element Partners

A

Fast forward to 2013 and a private equity firm bought Detechtion, by that time a software as a service company, a SaaS company. They saw the potential of a company with 30% market share in Canada to focus on growth internationally and in the U.S. market where it only had a 1% share.
