Untitled Deck Flashcards
What is the treatment for Tuberculosis (TB)?
Rifampin daily x 4 months, or Isoniazid + Rifampin daily x 3 months
What medications are used for Tuberculosis (TB)?
Rifampin, Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide, Ethambutol
What are the anticoagulants listed?
Warfarin (Coumadin®), Rivaroxaban, Dabigatran, Enoxaparin, Unfractionated heparin, Alteplase
What is the indication for Rifampin?
Used for active and latent disease
What are the precautions/ADRs for Rifampin?
Can discolor tears an orange color
What is the indication for Isoniazid?
Used for active and latent disease
What are the precautions/ADRs for Isoniazid?
Administered usually with Vitamin B6 to offset peripheral neurotoxicity and CNS effects
What is the indication for Warfarin (Coumadin®)?
Prevents production of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors
What are the contraindications for Warfarin?
Contraindicated in pregnancy, but safe for breastfeeding. Major/fatal bleeding risk.
What is the MOA of Rivaroxaban?
Factor Xa inhibitors to prevent clot formation
What are the contraindications for Rivaroxaban?
Requires renal dose adjustment. Risk of thrombotic events if discontinued without provider approval.
What is the indication for Dabigatran?
Anticoagulant therapy
What are the precautions/ADRs for Dabigatran?
Requires renal dose adjustment. Risk of thrombotic events if discontinued without provider approval.
What is the indication for Enoxaparin?
Used for VTE, enhances inhibition of clotting proteases
What are the contraindications for Enoxaparin?
Can cause heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, anemia, hemorrhage. Renal dose adjustment required.
