Q

what is dynamic h&w

A

It means that it is continually changing and fluctuating as a result of internal or external factors, for example someone could have optimal physical health and well-being and then they tear their acl and no longer able to play sport and keep their optimal fitness levels and are therefore no longer at optimal physical health and well-being. They could get surgery and recover and be able to return to sport and are now at their optimal physical h&w

18
Q

DALY, disability adjusted life year

A

Measures burden of disease. One DALY is equal to 1 year of healthy life lost due to premature death and illness. It’s calculated as the sum of YLL(years of life lost due to premature death) and YLD(years of life lost due to disability or a health condition).

25
Health status
An individuals or populations overall levels of health and well-being taking into account various indicators such as life expectancy, morbidity and mortality.
26
health as a resource individually
If an individual has optimal physical h&w then they are fit and able to work and make money for themselves, with this money they are able to spend it on things such a nutritious food and activities which in turn improve their overall health and wellbeing.
27
health as a resource nationally
If an individual has optimal mental h&w they will have low levels of stress and can therefore work and earn money, this creates more taxation revenue for the government so they are able to improve roads and schools and are therefore improving the populations overall health and wellbeing.
28
health as a resource globally
If they population had optimal h&w then their will be more people to work productively and produce goods that are able to be traded with other countries which in turn can help to reduce global poverty as more people can live higher quality lives therefore increasing the global h&w.
