What is motivation?
Mullins defines it as something which is a driving force thru which people achieve their goals and fulfill a need.
Mainspring behaviour explains why people expend energy to achieve particular goals.
Blosoi (2006) 3 elements of motivation:
Some need, motive or goal that triggers action
Process that directs a choice of action
Level of effort intensity that is applied to chosen vacation
What are the 3 basic elements of motivation?
Needs, goals and values
Two types of motivation theories? What are they?
Content theory : focuses on human needs and their satisfaction. It’s what drives humans or motivates them.
Process theories: why and what behaviours motivates people. Why people were motivated to behave in certain ways.
