What is the goal of political parties?
Elect Candidates
What are linkage institutions
A group that attempts to provide information, mobilize voters, and raise funds to support party candidates.
What is the goal of Interest groups?
To change legislation
What type of voting system does the US use?
The winner takes all system where all electoral votes will go to the victor.
What is the goal of 3rd parties in politics?
They take away votes from the two major parties in order to raise awareness on issues
What is the difference between a PAC and a SuperPAC?
A PAC can only give $5500 to candidates per year whilst a SuperPAC can spend an infinite amount of money but cannot cooperate with any candidate.
What is the Elite Theory?
The belief that a small amount of wealthy individuate dominate policy
What is the Pluralist Theory?
The idea where many interest groups compete
What is the Participatory Theory?
The idea that everyone votes based on their own ideals
What are some types of linkage institutions?
Media, Elections, Political parties, and interest groups.
