1.The witches cast a spell around a cauldron and Hecate congratulates them. Macbeth visits the witches and they show him three apparitions. Firstly, an armed head appears saying that Macbeth should ‘beware Macduff’. Secondly, a bloody child appears, saying ‘none of woman born shall harm Macbeth
2.Ross visits Lady Macduff and tries to justify to her Macduff’s flight to England, a flight that leaves his family defenseless. After Ross leaves, a messenger arrives to warn Lady Macduff to flee. Before she can do so, Macbeth’s men attack her and her son.
3.In England, Macduff tells Malcolm of how Scotland is suffering under the ‘tyrant’ Macbeth. Malcolm is suspicious of Macduff and tests his loyalty by saying that if Malcolm became king, his own ‘vices’ would be worse than Macbeth’s. Macduff excuses several of Malcolm’s flaws.

1.Suddenly, Lady Macbeth enters in a trance with a candle in her hand. Bemoaning the murders of Lady Macduff and Banquo, she seems to see blood on her hands and claims that nothing will ever wash it off. She leaves, and the doctor and gentlewoman marvel at her descent into madness.
2.scottish troops, led by Angus, Lennox, and other soldiers, are headed toward Birnam Wood. There, they plan to meet up with Macduff, Malcolm, and their English troops. They all discuss Macbeth’s horrible leadership and the fact that he’s clearly in this for himself, rather than for Scotland.

Macbeth gets a whole heap of bad news in this scene. He learns from the doctor that his wife is not well, and that there’s nothing the doctor can do to help her. Plus, he hears that ten thousand English troops and a whole lot of Scottish ones have gathered together to take him down. He prepares to fight.

4.The rebel Scottish forces have joined Malcolm’s army at Birnam Wood. Malcolm orders each soldier to cut down and carry a bough from the Wood so as to conceal their numbers from Macbeth.

7.Macbeth kills Young Siward, the son of one of the English commanders. Macduff searches frantically for Macbeth, vowing that he and he alone should kill the king. Finally, Siward tells Malcolm that they’ve overtaken Dunsinane castle, and victory is near.

Macduff finds Macbeth, who is reluctant to fight with him because Macbeth has already killed Macduff’s whole family and is sure of killing Macduff too if they fight. When Macduff announces that he is not, strictly speaking, a man born of woman, having been ripped prematurely from his mother’s womb, then Macbeth is afraid to fight. He fights with Macduff only when Macduff threatens to capture him and display him as a public spectacle. Macduff kills Macbeth, cuts off his head, and brings it to Malcolm. With Macbeth dead, Malcolm is now king and gives new titles to his loyal supporters..
