Unit Systems Flashcards
Metric System Units
The Metric system uses meters (m) as the base unit for length, with subdivisions such as millimeters (mm), centimeters (cm), and kilometers (km).
Metric system precision
The metric system is based on powers of ten, making it easy to convert between different units (e.g., 1 meter = 100 centimeters = 1000 millimeters)
Metric system common usage
Widely used globally, especially in scientific and engineering contexts
Imperial System Units
The imperial system uses feet(ft) as the base unit for length, with subdivisions such as inches (in) and yards (yd)
Imperial System Precision
Conversions between units are not as straightforward as in the Metric system (e.g., 1 foot = 12 inches, 1 yard = 3 feet).
Imperial System Common Usage
Predominantly used in the United States.
In Blender, the unit scale setting determines the relationship between Blender units and real-world units, such as feet or meters
