Q

What are nonmetals?

A

Nonmetals are solids or gases at room temperature with the exception of Bro mine. I was solid they are doll and brittle. They do not conduct heat or electricity very well except for carbon. They are in groups 14 to 16 on the periodic table

Q

What are metalloids?

A

They have both metal and nonmetal properties, some of them are semi conductors which means they can carry an electrical charge under certain conditions, and therefore are great for computers and calculators

Q

What are alkaline metals?

A

Group one on the periodic table, they do not occur in nature and are softer then most metals. They are very reactive and can even explode is exposed to water or air

Q

What are alkaline earth metals?

A

Group 2 on the periodic table, they are extremely reactive and are not found freely in nature, all react with water in the same manner but are not as reactive as the alkali metals

Q

What are noble gases?

A

Group 18 on the periodic table, they do not react with other elements and are the most stable element because all of them have the maximum number of electrons possible in their outer shell
