it stated that if you saw a slave, you had to bring them back or else they’ll make you pay a fee
What did abolitionist thought about it?
They said they shouldn’t enforce it
What was the Dred Scott Case?
Scott’s owner died and Missouri wanted to sent him back as a slave so Scott sued but he lost the case and he became slaved again
Who was elected as president and stopped the Civil War?
Abraham Lincoln
Which plan of reconstruction was not enforced?
Lincoln’s plan
Which amendments were ratified after the war?
13, 14, and 15th amendments
In the reconstruction of the south, who were the only ones who could vote and what it lead to?
Only white males could vote which lead to black people lined up to their new rights for Sufrage
Was reconstruction a success or failure?
Both, the south came back to the union and it fixed some problems but it only increased racism and it didn’t completly heal until later
