How do staff training and recruitment safeguard people?
Stops unsuitable people working with vulnerable clients.
Makes sure workers are suitably qualified.
Training and induction can cover safeguarding.
Kept up-to-date with safeguarding guidelines.
How does the Disclosure and Barring Service safeguard people?
Stops unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups.
How does a Multi-Agency approach safeguard people?
Early signs of abuse can be flagged up among agencies so that intervention can be put in place quicker.
Expertise and experience of issues can be shared - agencies can learn from each other and improve how they deal with abuse.
How do Risk Assessments safeguard people?
Stops needless accidents occurring.
Stops vulnerable people from being exposed to danger
How does having an accessible complaints procedure safeguard people?
If people can complain and feel comfortable doing so they will more likely report abuse.
If complaints are responded to then workers will be trusted and are more likely to share abuse
How does having a designated (child) protection officer safeguard people?
One specific person who knows the laws and procedures in detail.
The person who every staff member can go to with suspicions or if disclosures have been made.
How does a safeguarding policy protect people?
Explains the measures to take to make sure that everyone is as as they can be.
How does a confidentiality policy safeguard people?
If information is kept confidential then it can’t be used against them.
