Unit 7 Flashcards
What is a supplementary angle? What is a complementary angle?
A supplementary angle is an angle that helps another angle reach a total angle of 180 degrees. Complementary angles, together, equal 90 degrees.
What is an alternate angle? An opposite angle?
Alternate angles are angles that are between two lines, and are on opposite sides of the transversal. Opposite angles are two equal angles that are formed by two intersecting lines.
What is a perpendicular bisector?
A perpendicular bisector is a line segment that divides a segment into two equal parts. The angles that they create are each 90 degrees.
What is a bisector of an angle?
A bisector of an angle divides the angle into two equal angles.
What are corresponding angles?
Corresponding angles are angles that are on the same side of the transversal, and on the same side of each line.
What are interior angles?
Interior angles are angles that are between two lines, and are on the same side of the transversal. Interior angles are supplementary, so they equal 180 degrees.
