Saltwater
Water that has a large salt content.
Water cycle
The process of almost all water moves through the land, oceans and atmosphere.
Water quantity
The amount of water.
Water quality
the quality of water that makes it suitable or unsuitable for different reasons.
Glacier
A large mass of moving compressed ice and snow.
Icefall
A frozen waterfall is made when a glacier flows over a steep cliff.
Valley Glacier
a glacier that forms in mountain ranges.
Continental Glacier
A glacier that covers almost an entire continent.
Crevasse
A deep crack or break in the ice.
Icefield
An area that feeds two or more glaciers at once.
Pack Ice
floating ice sheets that are rarely ever more than 5m thick.
Icebergs
large chunks of ice that break off from continental glaciers.
Calve
when the ice breaks off from continental glaciers and become icebergs.
Striations
marks on rock and mountains that are left behind from glaciers.
Arete
a mountain range carved by two or more glaciers from several directions.
