High= respond with standard of excellence with approach- oriented emotions eg. hope or pride Low= respond with avoidance- oriented emotions eg anxiety, fear of failure

Desire to establish, maintain, or restore positive relationship with others

Experience anxiety in relationship and constantly seek approval and emotional security from others -> view themselves as dependent

To establish, maintain or expand their impact, control or influence over other people etc, Drive focused on dominance, reputation, status or position

Leaders and seek to interact with other in an assertive and dominant manner Experience strong positive emotions when opportunity exert influence

How does a high need for power not necessarily lead to success?
Despite more vocal and influential make less good decisions cuz of lack of consideration and less information sharing

Needs that are transitory and disappear once situational demand is satisfied Eg umbrella= rain, good grade in exam
