Q

What’s mycorrhizae/ adaptations and how is beneficial for plant growth
(4 marks)

A

Mycorrhizae is a fungal association between plant roots and beneficial fungi

  • it provides a large surface area for uptake of water and inorganic ions
  • acts as a sponge so can absorb and hold water and minuet am easily
  • making it more resistant to drought and able to take up more inorganic ions
