Atmosphere
The atmosphere is a layer of gas surrounding a planet, held by gravity.
Biosphere
The biosphere is where all life on Earth exists, like land, water, and air.
Cryosphere
Areas on Earth where water is always frozen.
Geosphere
Earth’s interior, rocks, minerals, landforms, and surface-shaping processes.
Hydrosphere
All the water on Earth, both on the surface and underground.
Altitude
The height of an object above a specific level.
Green House Gases
Gases in the Earth’s atmosphere that traps heat.
Greenhouse effect
The process where heat is trapped near Earth’s surface by greenhouse gases.
Ozone
An odorless, colorless gas made of three oxygen atoms, found in the environment.
Thermosphere
The layer of Earth’s atmosphere above the mesosphere and below the exosphere.
Mesosphere
The highest layer of the atmosphere, where gases are mixed rather than layered by mass.
Stratosphere
It is above Earth’s weather and changes very little.
Troposphere
The lowest layer of Earth’s atmosphere
Ionosphere
A very active part in the atmosphere
