brauchen is used with nicht , nur or bloß as a modal verb.
Translate: If I were the boss, I would find a video a lot cooler.
Wenn ich der Chef wäre , würde ich ein Video viel geiler finden.
both the nebensatz and the hauptsatz are in subjunktiv II, and the whole sentence is called a Bedingungssatz

Try translating: The subordinate clause contains the condition and the main clause formulates the consequence.

Der Nebensatz enthält die Bedingung und der Hauptsatz formuliert die Folge.
translate : Unreal conditional sentences indicate the opposite of indicative sentences.
Real: Katie hat Teller. Sie kann jonglieren. Irreal: Wenn Katie keine Teller hätte, könnte sie nicht jonglieren.
Irreale Bedingungssätze zeigen vom Indikative das Gegenteil an.
Real: Katie has plates. She can juggle. Unreal: If Katie had no plates, she could not juggle.
Translate: If my husband were a technician, he could repair the washing machine.
Wenn mein Mann Techniker, würde er die Waschmachine reparieren.
