A

Britain keeps impressing sailors, Britain has not abandoned its forts in the Ohio River valley as it was, supposed to under the Treaty of Paris, Britain is supplying the Native Americans in the Ohio River valley with weapons to fight against the Americans. Madison declares war on Britain. Andrew Jackson became well-known as a war hero, and the war ended with the Treaty of Ghent in 1814

Hamilton’s financial plan

A

Tariffs – provide revenue to the national government and encourage people to spend their money in America, Compromise to move the capital to the South if the Southern states would help pay the debts of the Northern states, Create a National Bank to loan money to businesses and stimulate the
economy. If the bank loans money, they can collect interest. If businesses have money to open, they can pay employees. Employees will then spend their money, putting it back into the economy and helping it to grow.

What during Adams’ Presidency

A

Alien and Sedition Acts, targeted immigrants who tended to follow the republican party and were speaking out against Adams’ administration. Alien
Act made it more difficult to become a citizen and therefore get the right to vote. The Sedition Act made it illegal to speak out against the government or the
president which violates the 1st
amendment. Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions, Jefferson and Madison’s reply to the
Alien and Sedition Acts. Stated that if a law that is passed is unconstitutional, each state has the right to nullify the law within its borders and not
follow it.

what when during Jefferson’s Presidency

A

A three-way tie leads to changes in the way presidents are elected. Purchase of the Louisiana Territory. The British are kidnapping sailors at sea and
forcing them into the British Navy. To try to stop the impressment, Jefferson passed
the Embargo Act, which halted all trade between America and the rest of the world. A significant mistake, as America relies heavily on foreign goods to sustain its economy. It was repealed when Madison took office.
