anti-leukotriene, inhibit CysLT1 receptor signaling, competitive inhibitor, control mild to moderate asthma, bronchodilation, useful for patients that can’t tolerate glucocorticoids, only about 50% people respond
montelukast (antagonist)
Rx only, COX-2 selective NSAID, low GI risk, high CV risk
celecoxib
SGLT2 inhibitor, inhibit glucose reabsorption in kidney, leads to purposeful glucose in urine, needs to be accompanied by fluid replenishment, cause weight loss and UTI, help heart failure
canaglifozin
orally bioavailable, DPP-4 inhibitor secretagogue for insulin
sitaglipin
sulfunyl urea K ATP secretagogues for insulin, enhance insulin secretion
glipizide
glucocorticoid given for long-term asthma, suppress immune system cells, first line agent for long-term asthma, reduced hyperreactivity of airways, can cause oral candidiasis and hoarseness
