Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Its a document containing 30 rights that are rights for all humans no matter gender, race or ethnicity etc. Eleanor Roosevelt helped write this Bill in 1948. Today it has been translated into over 500 languages
United nations
An organization founded in 1945 after world war two to prevent something like that from ever happening again. There goal is to solve world humanitarian problems.
Pyramid of Hate
A visual aid to show the levels of discrimination and how they lead to each other. It starts with laughing at a hateful joke and ends genocide.
Indian Removal Act
This was an act committed in the states where Indian americans would be forced to leave their homes and walk thousands of miles to land no one was using.
Andrew Jackson
The president who was voted in to remove the Indians in missipi going above the courts order.
Trail of Tears
The letiral trail that the indains traveled on and it was called the trail of tears becuase lots of people died and where then burried in shallow graves on the side of the road.
Discrimination
Is an unfair treatment of a person or group based on their identity in schooling, work, housing, ect.
Predejuce
A negative attitude towards a particular person or group based on their identity.
Japenesse Internment Camps
The camps where all Japanese Americans were removed from their homes during world war and put into 10 camps housing thousands. What they brought with them is what they could carry and they ending up trying to create their own communities in the camps.
Franklen Delano Rosevelt
The current president when the peral harbor incident occurred. Was the president we think so greatly of but he was the president to sign the act 9066 putting the Jappanesse American citizens in the camps.
Attact on Peral Harbor
When america was currently not in the war and the Japanesse had a suprise attack. They sunk 8 battle ships and killed almost 2300 men in 2 hours. This is what put america into world war 2
Bias
Negative thoughts or ideas about sertain groups.
Scapgoating
Using unfair treatment on an entire group because of one person in that group.
Apartheid
Were the laws in South Africa the separated black people and white people. There were 148 laws for aparthied.
Segragation
Sepperating a group of people based on their identity.
Nelson Mandela
He was the first black president ever and before that he was a peacful protester but was setence to life at age 46 and served 27 years for his protesting.
F.W. De Klerk
The white prsident in 1989 who ended apartheid and the relased Nelson Mandela in 1990.
African National Congress
Was a group Nelsonmadela led to help end apartheild.
