Sharp?

Block chords?
Chords were each note is played simultaneously (at the same time).
Broken chords?
Chords were each note is played individually (one at a time.
Damper pedal?
The pedal on the right, allows notes to echo when keys are hit.
Crescendo?
< Gradually get louder.
Diminuendo?
dim. Gradually die away.
Decrescendo?
> Gradually get softer.
Fermata?
Hold the note.
Eighth notes?
Rhythm worth ½ of one beat.
D. C. al Fine?
“Da capo al fine”, “From the head, to the end”; Go back to the beginning and play until the “fine” symbol.
Dotted Quarter Notes?
Quarter note followed by a dot-rhythm worth 1 ½ beats (usually followed by a single eighth note).
