Unit 3- Polygons Flashcards
Convex Polygon
No line that contains a side of the polygon contains a point in the interior of the polygon
Concave Polygon
At least 1 line that contains a side of the polygon contains at least 1 point in the interior of the polygon
Equilateral Polygon
A polygon where all sides are congruent
Equiangular Polygon
A polygon where all angles are congruent
Regular Polygon
A polygon that is equilateral and equiangular
Diagonal
A segment that joins 2 non-consecutive vertices
Polygon
A plane figure that is formed by 3 or more segments called sides, so that 2 things are true:
1) each side intersects exactly 2 other sides once at each endpoint
2) no 2 sides with a common endpoint are collinear
Interior of a Triangle
1 of the 3 original angles in a triangle
Exterior of a Triangle
Angles that are supplementary to the interior angles of a triangle. Each vertex has a pair of exterior angles.
