The status of being a citizen, a person who by birth or naturalization enjoys certain rights and has certain duties
Ideology
Ideology a basic set of political believes about the roles of gov and the individual in society
Naturalization
A legal process though which a person not granted citizenship by birth can become a citizen of that country

Interest group any organized group whose members share a common goal and try to promote their interests by influencing gov policy making and decision

Lobbying an organized effort to influence the policy process by persuading public officials to favor or oppose action on a specific isshe

A plan or course of action initiated by gov to achieve a stated goal

Means of communication that reach a large Audience
Negative campaignin
Trying to win an advantage in a campaign by emphasizing negative aspects of an opponent or policy
Plurality
The largest number of votes in an election
Battleground state
States where the presidential vote is likely to be close, candidates often focus on these states in the hope of picking up key votes
Swing voters
Swing voters are an independent voting states without strong party affiliation
Incumbent
Public official seeking re-election the position he currently occupies
Obama was incumbent in 2016 elections
Mass media
Means of communication that reach a large aufience

Real or imagines prejudice is thought o affect what stories journalists cover and how they report those stories
