Q

Describe the process of impeachment and removal as listed in the Constitution.

A

The House of Representatives is responsible for charging (impeaching) the president. The House requires a 2/3rds vote of agreement for the impeachment before the trial can begin in the Senate. The Senate then puts the president on trial and determines a verdict. If found guilty by 2/3rds vote, the president is removed from office. Chief Justice presides over the trial.
