What is the difference between liturgical and non-liturgical worship?
- Liturgical=Ordered and strict
- Non Liturgical=Not ordered and more free
What actions happen in liturgical worship?
- Follows a set of agreed words from a service on a screen or in a book
- In the book of common prayer and is followed strictly
What actions happen in non-liturgical worship?
- Still a structure but no set words other than songs
- Pentecostal put emphasis on listening to God instead of reading
- People may get up and dance or raise hands as they like the freedom it gives

What are the seven sacraments?
- Baptism

What are the only two sacraments C of E follow and why?
-Baptism and the last supper
-They are the only two mentioned in the BIble.
-Highlighted in the 39 Articles of religion

Why do Christians like liturgical worship?
- Comfort in using words that have been said for decades
- Sanctioned by a higher authority
Why are the Sacraments important to Christians?
- A sign of Gods love
- A special holy action that shows religious truth
What is Holy Week?
Holy week is the week running up to Easter where Christians reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice. It is quite a mournful week.
What is Palm Sunday and how is it commemorated?
- First day of holy week and symbolises Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem where people threw palm leaves
- Anglican and Catholic Churches hand out palm crosses as a memorial of Jesus’ arrival and his subsequent death on the cross
What is Maundy Thursday and how is it commemorated?
- The day of the last supper
- Remembered by Christians sharing bread and wine in Holy Communion as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice
- At Roman Catholic Church services the priest washes the feet of 12 people to commemorate Jesus’ washing the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper.
What is Good Friday and how is it commemorated?
- Christians remember Jesus’ sacrifice and his crucifixion
- They reflect on the message of the crucifixion
- The message is that by Jesus dying he atoned our sin created by Adam and Eve and restored the relationship with God
- Main service begins at noon with forms of a meditation where Jesus’ last words are repeated
What does Holy Week mean to Christians?
- Reminds Christians of the sacrifice of Jesus
- Reminds them of Gods love
- Most important event in the Christian calendar
- Resurrection= The death of sin and the opening of eternal life
Why do Christians try so much with charity?
-Jesus tells many parables about that to be a good person and get into heaven you just actively help others

What are three Christian charity organisations?
- Tearfund-Aims to end hunger all over the world
- Christian aid-Set up to help refugees after WW2 now works a lot in war zones
- CAFOD-works to fight poverty and injustice all over the world
