What are three parts of the trinity and what do they represent to Christians?
- The Father-The Creator-Someone to pray to with the power to change things
- The Son-The Saviour-More of a friend as he lived as a human.Easily relatable
- The Holy Spirit-The Guide-Comfort as it lives within them
Why is the Trinity important to Christians?
- Provides guidance for all problems through all its parts
- Nicene Creed states that God is spiritually active and therefore always with Christians
What is the Nicene Creed?
- A Catholic viewpoint
- A declaration of the aspects of the trinity and how they are all one being
Why is Genesis important to Christians?
- Confirms Gods omnipotence and right to be worshipped
- The world was created so that humans have a responsibility to care for it
- Shows that God still cares for mankind
What is the creationist outlook on Genesis?
-That it is literal truth so accept no other interpretations
What is the liberal interpretation of Genesis?
- See it as more of a metaphor
- Each day is likely to have been longer
- Many accept scientific views but see God as the creator/prime mover
What problems does evolution give to Christians?
- DNA evidence, palaeontology and geology all indicate evolution, not everything being made perfect from the beginning
- Christians have had to adjust from the idea that everything was made for them
- Science proves a lot of perfection wrong
What arguments are there against atheist ideas of evolution?
- No one knows where the first cell came from
- It’s so perfect it must have been designed
- The bad is due to Adams actions after The Fall not Gods initial creation
Why is the incarnation important to Christians?
- God knows human struggles so is more likely to understand
- Role model
- Allows humans to have a relationship with God
- Shows that God loves humanity as he sacrificed himself for us
What is salvation?
-The act of being saved from hell by putting faith in God
What was the Crucifixion and why is it important to Christians?
- Jesus was crucified with two criminals due to acts of Blasphemy
- “Father into your hands i commit my spirit”
- This is important to Christians because his calm disposition showed how much he loved us and him actually dying reflected his humanity.
What was the resurrection and why is it important to Christians?
- After three days Jesus rose from the dead
- Important because it shows what Jesus taught was true as well as the fact that Jesus’ sacrifice cleansed the world of sin.
What happened after the resurrection and why is it important to Christians?
- After the resurrection, Jesus completed his teachings that after he left the Holy Spirit would remain with the disciples then he was “Taken up before their very eyes”
- Important to Christians because it shows that there is life after death and also proves that Jesus is the son of God.
What is Eschatology?
-Life after death
What is Universalism?
-The belief that because God loves everyone they will all go to heaven
