Behavior
Anything an organism does
Learned Behaviors
Behaviors that come from watching other animals or through experience.
Example: young animals learning how to hunt for food by copying their parents
Instinct
A behavior an animal knows without learning it.
Example: searching for food is an instinct
Birds singing is an instinct
A spider spinning a web
A moth using moonlight to find its way
Hibernate
When some animals go into a deep sleep-like state that helps them survive the cold during winter.
Itβs heart beats more slowly and breathing almost stops
