Q

Tempo Banding

A

Align capes accomplishing mission with actual deploy-to-dwell ratios

No deployment for longer periods than capes are required

Provide predictable schedules for realistic planning

A

Born of necessity after years of rotations

Operates on a 24-month schedule

Remains flexible, fulfilling CCDRs needs & provides predictability for Airmen

Q

AEF Key Elements

A

Readily available force - primary pool for fulfilling AF requirements

Enabler force (X-Band) - postured as enablers & rotate as ops reqs dictate (on-call)

In-place support - 2 types - 1) direct support of a CCDR msn 2) representing minimum reqs to support critical home station ops

Q

Adaptive planning

A

Two concepts:

1) Teaming - filling out a deployed unit with the largest portion possible from a single contributing unit
2) Crisis deployment/rotation of airmen - pull as much as possible from one wing in the pool for max effect/normal rotational ops have lead time to cast a wide net across AF

Q

Commander’s Toolkit (CCTK)

A

Tool on AEF Online to enable CCs to check medical, dental, and personnel readiness info on entire unit

Combines data from the Preventive Health Assessment/Individual Readiness (PIMR) system and Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS)

CCs and UDMs have near real-time direct access to unit IMR status and due/overdue reports
