Freedom
The human power to choose, and is shown in human beings in their ability to act against their dominant instincts, which animals never do.
Justice
The moral virtue that consists in the constant and firm will to give their due to God and neighbor.
Sin
This word refers to an offense against reason, truth, and right conscience and thus against God.
Venial Sin
An offense against God which does not deprive the sinner of sanctifying Grace, (lighter than normal sin)
Mortal Sin
Sins that imperil your soul. By commiting these sins, you forfeit heaven and opt for hell by your own free will.
Social Sin
This term refers to the fact that personal sins can give rise to social situations and institutions that are sinful.
Stewardship
In a biblical usage the management of whatever a person is entrusted with, to profitably administer for God.
Original Sin
The sin of Adam as the head of the human race.
Invididualism
The problematic belief that the needs of each person are more important than the needs of the whole society or group.
Commutative Justice
This form of justice involves the relationship of one individual to another individual.
Restorative Justice
This form of justice emphasizes healing the harm caused by wrong doing.
Prayer
lifting up our minds and hearts to God, seen as a conversation with God.
Saint
A name given in the New Testament to Christians generally but early restricted to persons who were eminent for holiness.
